On the day that John Darr's father is killed John comes face to face with the man who shot his father. After this event John Darr refuses to accept what had happened. He loses all faith in God, and he throws away everything that had meaning for him. He follows up on his fathers death by enlisting in the army; believing him to be dead under the circumstances. During his time in desert warfare he meets a man named James Jackson who believes himself to be Jesus Christ. His only goal is to reach the great pyramid of Giza and seek out some sort of secret treasure which may help him establish a new religion based on Christianity. After James Jackson and the Darr family discover the secret chamber of the pyramid, they come across a mysterious book that is written in ancient Greek. This book is believed to be a sign that Jesus is still alive and that he has been waiting for them for thousands of years. The film premiered April 17, 2011 at the Tribeca Film Festival. It also screened at the 2011 Los Angeles Film Festival on June 14, 2011. It was released on DVD July 19, 2011.This film received a 2% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 12 reviews.On Metacritic this film has a score of 55/100 based on 5 reviews from top critics.
